Landscape Park Isopulse is the largest and oldest Park in the city of Kotka. The Park has an area of 8 hectares. It has been wrapped around the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Church in neo-classical style is the oldest building in the city. It was built in 1799-1801 architect James Perrin. His other famous work is the Admiralty in St. Petersburg.
Park Isopulse
Three entrances to the Church is decorated with columns, forming an impressive facade together with the dome and the bell tower. The interior of the Church attract the attention of beautiful icons. The most amazing of them depicts St. Nicholas in the background Rochensalmskaya sea battles. From destruction during the war the Church was saved, presumably, Maria Perper, whose statue can be seen in the Park near the Church.

Before entering the Church street side of Ruotsinsalmi is gorgeous flowerbed area of over 1000 m2 with tulips and other flowering plants. A wide range of plants, both local and imported exotic, you can enjoy the blooms from spring to late autumn. Ornamental perennials planted here more than 50 species, and complement their vines, bulbous flowers and azaleas.

In the landscape design of the Park combines elements of natural landscape and the style of “the English garden”. The neatly trimmed lawns, paths lined with “wild stone”, and the bushes shape of various animals. In the Northern part of the Park is a small and not man-made pond in summer where you can see wild drakes, and in the Western part there is a large rock on which the trees grow.
Park Isopulse
At the entrance to the Park with a city street, there are two large fountain. In hot summer weather here bathed the kids. The Park has all you need for a variety of activities: two playgrounds, a small swimming pools for adults and children, playgrounds, area for walking dogs. Extensive manicured lawns for picnics, sports, playing with children, or simply relax in the fresh air.
